Wild Animal Safari

Get ready to giggle!! This is the largest drive-thru Safari in Georgia with over 650 types of animals.   During the 3 mile journey you will get to see, hand feed and touch animals like giraffes, zebras, camels, buffalos and many more. Roosevelt Stables

Enjoy the gorgeous FDR State Park on horseback with 28 miles of trails. There are 1 to 4 hour guided trail rides offered and every skill level is welcomed. There are many horseback riding adventures to choose from price ranging from $40 to $225 a person. For more details on trails rides click here. Callaway Gardens

Located only 1 mile from our resort, Callaway Gardens is a public, educational, horticultural and charitable organization that offers a man-made landscape in a unique natural setting, conceived and created by Cason J. Callaway and his wife Virginia Hand Callaway for the benefit of mankind. The purpose is to provide a wholesome family environment where all may find beauty, relaxation, inspiration and a better understanding of the living world. Some attractions are John A. Sibley Horticultural Center, Cecil B. FDR State Park

Just 5 miles away, this park is deeply rooted in the historical era of four-time President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Above Kings Gap is Dowdell’s Knob, Roosevelt’s favorite picnic spot overlooking a magnificent view of the valley below. Hikers will enjoy the scenic trails in Georgia’s largest state park, especially the Pine Mountain Trail, which winds through a mix of hardwoods and pines. The trail’s highest elevation is 1,395 feet. Pine Mountain is on the southern-most edge of the Appalachian Mountain range. One of the park’s most popular amenities is the historic “Liberty Bell Pool” which is fed by naturally cool springs.

Pine Mountain Trail

Since 1975, volunteers of all ages have labored to build and maintain the Pine Mountain Trail, a 23-mile footpath. This main trail and connecting loops, cross and follow the beautiful Pine Mountain ridge in west central Georgia, and is located inside the Franklin D. Roosevelt State Park. Quiet woods, sparkling streams, misty waterfalls, rock outcroppings, varied forest, scenic overlooks, deer and turkey await your discovery.

Warm Springs, GA

No matter if you’ve been here a dozen times or more, the attractions of Warm Springs always seem fresh, new and soothing to the spirit.  Benches and rocking chairs line the sheltered downtown streets, where specialty shops and restaurants beckon with old-fashioned charm!

An array of Specialty stores line the quaint streets and courtyard of Warm Springs Village. Antiques, Crafts, Fine Collectibles and much more can be found in this shopper’s paradise. A visit to the winery and tasting room is a great way to experience Warm Springs, Ga. Specializing in fine muscadine wines made from locally grown muscadine grapes, The Warm Springs Winery is a must do for all. This lovely rustic setting is a hidden treasure. Experience your tasting, witness the production, learn about muscadine wine and have fun the entire time.

River’s Bend Winery

River’s Bend Winery is family owned and operated. This is a farm winery, and the first and only Agritourism operation in Troup County.  There are nine wines to choose from:  SWEET: The Naked Peach and The Naked Strawberry. WHITE: Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, and Sauvignon Blanc. RED: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, and Pinot Noir.  Three types of tasting are offered and if you love what you taste you can also take home a bottle or two.

Famous for their fried chicken and fried green tomatoes, this is definitely a must eat!! The Little White House

Nestled in the wooded estate The Little White House is one of Georgia’s most popular historic sites.  Guests are allowed to tour FDR’s home, guest house and servants’ quarters. Also see his 1938 Ford convertible equipped with hand controls and the Secret Service sentry posts. Nearby are the historic pools that initially drew the president to this area and inspired him to build the Little White House.

Hills & Dales Estate

Enjoy this beautiful estate built by Fuller E. Callaway in any season. The Italian villa is surrounded by splendid formal boxwood gardens. Experience the warmth and hospitality of the residence with a tour of the 30 room home and tour the 180 year old historic Ferrell Gardens. This majestic place is full of history, antiques, and tranquility.

TreeTop Adventure & Ziplines

The TreeTop Adventure is made up of 5 zip-lines and 20 other challenges that soar up to 30 feet above the forest floor. The zip-lines range from 44 to 210 feet long and are combined with a series of ladders, wires, logs, discs, netting and other suspended surfaces, each requiring a high level of balancing act. An awesome adventure – the young and the young-at-heart will all remember this as an experience of a lifetime. If you’re at least 54 inches tall, you can enjoy this adrenaline-charged adventure with a bird’s eye view. Whitewater Express

Go raft on the Chattahoochee River in Columbus, Ga./Phenix City, Ala., the longest urban whitewater rafting in the world! The course has been described to be “Wild as Colorado and Warm as Costa Rica.” USA Today picked the Chattahoochee Whitewater Park as one of the Top 12 man-made Adventures in the World! The course consists of class II-V whitewater and is one of the most exciting sections of whitewater in the US! They are able to run two types of trips (Classic and Challenge) on the same 2.5 mile stretch of river due to the dam-controlled release which occurs daily! During the day, the river will run at approx. 800cfs with Class I-III+(IV) rapids which is a perfect combination of fun and adventure for the whole family! In the afternoon, the water cranks up to 4,000-13,000cfs (5-15x the morning flow!) with Class III-V rapids, which are some of the biggest on the east coast and provide for a wild and exciting trip that is unlike any other on the east coast! National Infantry Museum & Solider Center

This is a world class museum that pays tribute to the US Army Infantryman and his 235 plus years of service. Located in Ft. Benning, GA this is a great place to learn history and have fun while doing so. Admission is FREE. The Rock Ranch

There are many wonderful things to do in Georgia, and you haven’t done them all until you’ve visited The Rock Ranch, is located less than 50 miles from PMCC Resort. The Rock Ranch, founded by the late S. Truett Cathy of Chick-fil-A, is the best place in Georgia for family fun on the farm. Then, the journey to find other communities awaits your group’s adventure during the six-hour tour of exclusive sites from The Walking Dead.
